What the program is

The NSW Government’s Home Energy Saver loan program gives eligible NSW households access to zero-interest, no-fee finance of up to $15,000 for approved energy upgrades, repayable over up to 10 years. Zero 4 Energy is an approved installer under the NSW Government’s Home Energy Saver loan program.

The loans are funded by the NSW Government and delivered by participating finance providers. We offer them through two of those providers: Brighte and Plenti. Every application is assessed by the provider against its own eligibility and credit criteria.

What the loan offers

A 0% interest loan, with no fees on the loan. You can borrow up to $15,000, with flexible repayments over up to 10 years. It is available for eligible NSW households and is subject to Brighte or Plenti approval.

The upgrade it pays for still attracts the usual incentives. STCs and the federal battery rebate are applied to your system price in the normal way, and the loan can finance the remaining cost, up to the program limit, subject to approval.

Who may be eligible

You may be eligible for a Home Energy Saver loan if your household’s total taxable income is up to $210,000 a year, you own the property (as an owner-occupier or landlord), you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident, the property is not social housing or used for short-stay accommodation, and you meet the provider’s credit assessment requirements.

Those criteria are set by the program and the providers, and they can change. Check Brighte’s website or Plenti’s website for full eligibility criteria, and the NSW Government’s Home Energy Saver page for program details.

What it can pay for

The program covers approved energy upgrades, which include solar systems, battery storage and solar + battery systems, alongside other upgrades such as heat pump hot water. Zero 4 Energy designs and installs solar and battery systems, and the system on your quote must meet the program’s approved upgrade requirements. We confirm that before you apply.

How it works with us

Home Energy Saver loan applications are submitted through an accredited vendor. In practice: we design your system and prepare a written quote; you apply online with your chosen provider; the provider assesses the application; once the job is installed and you confirm it is complete, the provider pays us and you repay the provider over time.

We are an installer, not a credit provider, and we do not give financial advice. Whether the loan suits your circumstances is your decision to make with the provider’s information in front of you.
